Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser Party
|
Mark your calendar, as you don't want to miss out on this year's Great Strides Walk Fundraiser party to be held at the Cambridge Brew House in Granby on Tuesday, April 18 th, from 5-9 pm. A raffle is planned and a portion of the night's sales will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. There is no cost to attend and the public is invited to come and enjoy great food & drink while listening to familiar tunes played by Timmy "Buffett" Lenihan.
This year's Great Strides walk will be held at Granby's Salmon Brook Park on Sunday May 21st. Granby residents, Tim and Deb Lenihan, are working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as co-chair's of this year's walk in Granby. The Lenihan's two children, Amy (8) and Jason (9) were both diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) shortly after birth and have only known a life with CF. The Lenihan's team, Team 'AJ', named after Amy & Jason, was the number one fundraising team in CT last year raising over $40,000.
CF is a genetic disease that affects about 30,000 people in the United States. The disease leads to life threatening lung infections and digestive problems. Through the generosity of Granby residents & businesses, advancements in research offer much hope for all those with this disease. Currently, there are more research opportunities than money to support them. There is no cure for CF at this time but with continued financial support there is every reason to remain optimistic.
Please plan on joining the Lenihan's at the Cambridge Brew House on Tuesday, April 18 th, anytime between 5 and 9 PM. For more information on how you can help out please contact Tim & Deb Lenihan at 844.8759 or Tracey Wu at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at 1-800-841-2828.
